Mediation is an informal, voluntary, confidential and free process that can help you resolve problems with your employment.

Mediation allows employers and employees to talk about their work problems with the help of an independent person (a mediator). Mediation can take place in-person or online. You can ask for an interpreter.

If the employer and employee can find a solution, the mediator will write a settlement agreement that describes the agreed solution. The Employment Relations Authority can force both an employer and employee to meet the requirements of the agreement.
